‘LOVE WHERE YOU LIVE’ MURAL

During the ‘18-’19 year, the Women’s League commissioned local artist Sarah Liz Tate to paint a beautiful, colorful mural at the train overpass on Hogan Road near Franklin Road. This mural is a welcoming sign as people enter and leave our neighborhood. This art serves to beautify the once-dingy area and elevate the area while instilling a sense of community pride. “Love Where You Live” is quickly becoming the Crieve Hall motto.

little libraries

During the ‘19-’20 year the League committed to 10 new Little Libraries for the neighborhood. See the map of our Little Libraries here.

CRIEVE HALL SIGN PROJECT

During the ‘19-’20 year the League donated $2,500 to Crieve Hall Neighborhood Association’s fundraising drive to update the neighborhood sign at Blackman and Trousdale.

Supporting our Schools

WINTER WISHES

The Women’s League adopts over 80 teachers annually from our three elementary schools: Crieve Hall Elementary, Granberry Elementary and Norman Binkley Elementary. Each teacher from these three schools submitted a wish list and were adopted by the community. We were able to fulfill every teacher’s wish and provide needed items for their classrooms that they would not otherwise be able to have, due to budgetary constraints.

back to school supply drive

Our community collected over 500 boxes of crayon boxes for the students at Norman Binkley’s online art program during COVID-19 through an Instagram “drive”. Our goal was reached in less than a week with the generosity of our followers.

Service Projects

COVID-19 response

The League made and collected over 400 reusable masks that were donated to healthcare facilities and high risk homes throughout the Nashville area and delivered 13 care packages to Healthcare Heroes in our neighborhood. The League coordinated volunteers to do shopping for at risk neighbors and will continue to support as needed.

End Slavery Tennessee

This organization provides comprehensive care and advocacy for human trafficking survivors. End Slavery TN is opening a new safe house and the Women’s League helped stock the house with essential items. We donated bed in a bag sets for survivors entering the safe house, bathroom and kitchen cleaning products, as well as collected gift cards from Target, Amazon and Wal-Mart. The gift cards allow each woman rescued to be taken shopping for new clothes.

MNPS Girls’ Supply Drive

The League was contacted by city officials to help gather feminine supplies for high school girls in Nashville. These girls were missing school a week at a time each month, due to not having access to adequate feminine care products. The League donated hundreds of care items, thus allowing these girls to not have to miss school.
